"Media Spotlight: KIN Origin Rehab Center Featured in an Exclusive Interview on the Popular TV Show 'Krisana Tour Yok Lor' (Krisana's Wheelchair Tour)"

KIN Origin Rehab Center | Interview on the Kritsana Tour Yok Lor Programme
Mr Thongchai Chokthanomsap executive, and Asst. Prof. Dr Chawakit Phumiboonchoo co-executive of Kin Origin Healthcare, thanked Mr Kritsana Tour Yok Lor, organiser of Thailand Friendly Design Expo 2023, for visiting and reviewing the accessible and universal-design features at “KIN Origin Rehab Center” Bearing–Sukhumvit 107, as part of preparations to support an international conference at FD Expo 2023 later that year.

Mr Kritsana : Hello, Mr Thongchai.
Mr Thongchai : Hello, P’Kritsana. KIN Origin Rehab Center is planned to include a physical rehabilitation hospital and a medical clinic.
It also includes a hotel. Our current services include a rehabilitation centre for people recovering from stroke.
For people leaving hospital who wish to rehabilitate during what the interview describes as a three-month “golden period”, the centre is available to support their recovery goals and return to daily life.
The first building is the hotel section, providing standard hotel services. It also includes an onsen, traditional Thai massage, medical services, aesthetic treatments, vitamin drips, and NAD+ services.
This is a suite room for rehabilitation guests or older adults who require long-term accommodation.
The facility is registered as a hospital, and the interview states that its standards follow hospital requirements. Rooms include a nurse-call button for 24-hour assistance, bathrooms are arranged according to hospital standards, and various fixtures use electric or touch-operated systems.
Mr Kritsana : Staying here would provide comfort and safety for people recovering their health.
Mr Thongchai : The bathroom has grab rails designed according to accessible and universal-design principles. The sanitary fixtures and taps use sensor systems, making them easier to use for the general public, patients, and people with disabilities.
Mr Kritsana: It is a sensor system, and importantly it also reduces the need for physical contact with surfaces.
Mr Thongchai: Yes.

Mr Kritsana: We are now on the top floor. What activities are available here?
Mr Thongchai: This is a hydrotherapy pool. The interview describes it as suitable for people recovering from stroke because water can support the body when weakness or balance difficulties are present. Aquatic exercise may make movement easier and may reduce fall risk for some older adults. The pool uses comfortably warm water and was designed with accessibility and safety in mind.
Mr Kritsana: Wheelchair users can also access aquatic physical therapy. In addition to the rooftop hydrotherapy pool, there is also a rooftop garden.
Mr Thongchai : Our eighth floor has a garden where older adults can walk in the morning or evening. The upper level is cool and comfortable. Every week, we also hold merit-making and alms-giving activities so older adults and rehabilitation guests can participate and enjoy the occasion together.
KIN Origin Rehab Center is a collaboration between KIN Rehabilitation & Homecare and Origin Property. The hospital layout was designed in a modern, welcoming style intended to feel like home, with an open and comfortable atmosphere. The interview states that recreational activities do not repeat over a 30-day cycle, while health-focused activities involving hand use and muscle function are planned weekly by occupational therapists. The project combines several uses rather than functioning solely as a hotel or hospital, aiming to reduce a sense of isolation. People who are ill, undergoing rehabilitation, or in generally good health may stay in the hotel section, while hospital services are available when medical or rehabilitation care is required.

Mr Kritsana : What customer groups does the centre serve?
Mr Thongchai : Our customers include people with stroke and stroke-related conditions. The interview refers to people with blocked, ruptured, or narrowed cerebral blood vessels who may require frequent physical therapy. The centre sets individual recovery goals, reviews them weekly, and discusses progress among physicians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. The stated aim is to help each person return to daily life as soon as reasonably possible.

Asst. Prof. Dr Chawakit Phumiboonchoo : The project brings together Origin, our parent company, and KIN, a specialist in physical rehabilitation. The collaboration aims to help people recovering from stroke regain health and, where possible, return to everyday activities. The interview also describes wellness and health tourism as major global trends. Origin is developing real estate in the form of a “Wellness Lifestyle Estate” designed for broad and safe access, with the expectation that this could support medical and wellness tourism.
