KIN New Year Activity: Gift Draw and Skill-Building Activities
Bringing Happiness to Older Adults for the New Year 2026
Caring for older adults is not only about supporting the body; it is also about nurturing a happy heart.
As the year draws to a close, the Christmas and New Year atmosphere returns once again. For the older adults recovering with us, taking part in social activities is very important because it helps them feel less lonely and creates the warmth of being with family.
This year, KIN organised a small but warm celebration to say goodbye to the old year and welcome 2026. The event was designed so every older adult could participate, from brain-training games to a lucky draw and gift exchange.
Group Activities for Skill Building and Enjoyment
Before the celebration began, our team guided everyone through group activities. These were not simply games to relieve boredom; the therapy team carefully designed them to practise skills specifically for older adults.
Playing lively music, passing a ball, and guessing pictures encouraged older adults to move their bodies, practise concentration, and interact with people around them. The activities helped reduce shyness and created a friendlier atmosphere within the group.
The Team Presented Small Gifts to Older Adults
After the activities, the centre presented small gifts as a token of thanks to the older adults who trusted us with their care. Although the gifts were simple everyday items or snacks, the smiles and words of thanks we received were a meaningful source of encouragement for every team member.
Time for the Lucky Draw and Gift Exchange
The highlight of the event was the lucky draw and gift exchange. Older adults enjoyed the anticipation and opened their wrapped gifts, which helped exercise fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination without making them feel that they were doing physical therapy.
Talking together, exchanging stories, and showing gifts to friends created a warm atmosphere filled with laughter.
Ending the Year with Happiness and Smiles
All of these activities demonstrate that good elderly care must support both physical and emotional well-being. For the New Year 2026, the KIN team wishes every older adult and family good health and happiness throughout the year.
