When Family Matters Most
A Review from a Family Member Who Used the Services at KIN Ratchaphruek
At certain times in life, family caregivers may face situations in which they cannot remain beside their loved one at all times. Choosing a care center that can be trusted therefore becomes extremely important. This review shares the direct experience of a family who entrusted their father to KIN Ratchaphruek and received more than basic care—they gained peace of mind and support beyond their expectations. Here is why the center became their answer when they truly needed “someone to help care for our loved one in our place.”

This is the third time we have brought our father to stay at KIN Ratchaphruek. His first stay was for one week, the second for two weeks, and this latest stay has been for one month, with his discharge scheduled for April 19, 2025.
His first stay was in December 2024 because we needed to travel to another province and were looking for a care center close to home. We found KIN, which had only recently opened. The facilities were new and modern, the center was clean and comfortable, and its location on a main road made travelling convenient. The staff provided very helpful advice and guidance. Once our father was admitted, the center created a private LINE group for our family and updated us throughout the day about his daily care, including vital-sign monitoring, suctioning, repositioning, diaper changes, tube feeding and medication, bathing or bed bathing, and hair washing. He also joined activities whenever appropriate, most recently the traditional Songkran water-pouring ceremony for older adults.
It was therefore an easy decision to bring our father back for a second stay when we needed to travel for two weeks in February 2025.
During this latest stay, from March 20 to April 19, we were even more impressed by the attentiveness of every staff member. Our father needed treatment for a lung infection after being assessed and diagnosed at the hospital. His ongoing care included nebulized medication, suctioning, tube feeding, and intravenous antibiotics. The center was able to continue his care very well after discharge from the hospital until he gradually regained his strength and improved enough to return home, where our family could resume caring for him as before.
The center has a physician specializing in geriatric medicine who visits every week. The doctor helps diagnose conditions and follows patients closely together with the nurses stationed at the center. During this stay, the doctor quickly recognized that our father was having a severe allergic reaction to an antibiotic and arranged for him to be transferred urgently back to the original hospital for treatment. We cannot imagine how we would have managed this alone at home. The antibiotic that caused the reaction was the same medication he had previously received successfully for a lung infection, but this time he developed an allergy on the third consecutive day of treatment.
We almost forgot to mention another reason—and the main reason—we chose this center from the beginning: private rooms are available, allowing us to stay overnight and keep our father company 24 hours a day, every day.
For anyone who feels afraid or anxious about entrusting a loved one to someone else during a period when you cannot provide the care yourself, we encourage you to remain open to choosing a trustworthy care center. It can help you continue with the responsibilities you need to manage. We understand caregivers very well: there are times when we need someone to support us for a while so that, once our necessary duties are complete, we can return and resume caring for our loved one.
